"Nigerian police save tortured students"
Police released 15 children from an Islamic school in central Nigeria where they were shackled and tortured, police told AFP news agency.
AFP adds that the children were between 2 and 10 years old and were discovered on Sunday in the town of Suleja in Niger state.
They were found in a "dehumanizing state" with signs of torture, regional police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said.
He added that the cleric who ran the school was arrested during the raid.
We know that Nigerian parents take their troublesome children to religious reintegration centers to discipline them.
